I am posting a new story...it is an opening, heavily drawing upon the base story of Sailor Moon: Generation Gap (the partial fic exists on it's own webpage...but it looks like it hasnt been worked on in some years...i DID email the author with a copy of my story asking permission to run with it)....in large part because i liked the general concept and thought i could run off in a different direction with it while maintaining the timelines established in that work i sat down and went to work when i got back from my trip...

Two men were sitting by a campfire….the woods were peaceful, and the sky lit with countless stars from above. One leaned forward and stirred the fire slightly then reached over and poured his companion some coffee. “You think he will be able to make it?”
“With that lively granddaughter of his, I don’t think Ed can even blink without her knowing it. So getting out might be a challenge even for him.”
Both chuckled at that thought as the other man replied “Bet he didn't see this in his younger days!”
“See what?” A third man came into the clearing. “Are you two talking about me again?”
The second man replied “Who else would we be talking about? Artemis?” as all three laughed. “Right John?”
A chuckle from the first man “Well, Des, it wouldn’t be anyone else we know!”

More coffee was poured as the three men told ‘great lies of battle’ as Des referred to them. Finally after an hour of such ‘lies’, John leaned back and closed his eyes. “Ed, I don’t know how you got out of the house, but I am glad you made it.” He paused. “Leaving aside the “Men’s Night Out” aspect of this, we need to talk seriously about some things…and we needed to share with you with other ears at a minimum.”
Des nodded. “Those new girls Venus and the others are training…”
Ed looked at the two of them. “Is there a problem?”
John replied “Leaving aside that little demonstration fiasco they did to you and your family, no. Although it DID remind me of when Des trained the girls way back in the day….”
Des chuckled “No worse than the training Choctaw, Luna and Artemis had with me…”
John shot back “Although I can safely say that NONE of the girls hiked their legs up ‘mistaking you for a fire hydrant’ as Choctaw claimed…” to the laughter of the others. Then more seriously, John added “Actually those new girls worry me for other reasons.”
“Oh?”
“Yes….every time we have a new group awaken, we have major trouble that usually results in massive destruction…I just worry that history is going to repeat yet again.”
“John, I think you are now overthinking as badly as Ami does….”
“Well, maybe so, but have you seen Setsuna lately?” Des asked. “She has been looking really down, like she knows something BAD is going to happen soon….”
Ed laughed “She is always that way….as the Guardian of Time, she moves forward and back as needed…”
John replied “I know….but Sets just hasn’t been herself….when I stopped her last week to ask about something kind of minor, she just got this look of sadness on her face….as if something is ending soon and I shouldn’t be worrying about such trifles. And Hotaru has been even spookier, if that is possible…”
Des nodded. “So, what we want to say to you is this…we also sense something is going to happen fairly soon…we need to be ready.” He thought “We might have to time travel yet again if things get too bad, and I would really rather avoid that if possible.”
John added "I know Queen Serenity sent us all forward when Beryl got too close to winning....by doing that, she allowed Serenity as Sailor Moon, Venus and the others to finally beat Beryl, plus countless threats since then." He thought. "This Muerte person, and her shadow armies...i am afraid right now we are at a severe disadvantage, even with all our combat experience..."
“I’ll talk to the Queen about this.” Ed stood up. “Are you two sure?”
“I am sure about that, Ed!” John replied. “I don’t want to go through a third childhood if I don’t have to! Two was bad enough!”
There was chuckling, then Ed sat back down “I’ll let you in on a little something. Sailor Cygnus has the gift of clairvoyance…almost as good as Mars…”
Des nodded “Yes she does….but, the lass acts as if her abilities scare her.”
Ed nodded “They do, I think.” He paused. “As I was given to understand it, she saw a vision of our end. Mars was working with her to try to refine it a bit more…”
“I don’t think we need to refine that as much as we need to make sure we all are ready for whatever may come…” John answered. “As it is, we may not have enough time. My Team is always ready, but I hope Venus can get the new girls ready…” He paused “I am afraid we may all be needed, ready for battle or not.”
As Ed got up, Des said “Oh, please tell the Crystal Princess that both of her uncles said ‘Hello’.“
“I’ll do that” Ed started to leave “And John, Des….”
“Yes?” Both chorused.
“Thank you for sharing your thoughts…and John...that is Endymion to you!"
"Sorry, Boss....is that better?"
"I think I liked 'Ed' better!" He laughed then looked upward and sighed softly.

Three days later, explosions shook the Crystal Towers….The Royal Couple looked at each other with alarm! Was this the final attack foreseen?
Neo-Queen Serenity quickly sent one of the guards to fetch the Crystal Princess….
Endmynion went to his master control panel off to one side. The King looked at several viewscreens, some of which were filled with the images of smoke and panicky citizens running for the safety of the Crystal Castle. He pushed a button “John, what is going on out there?”
“We’re a bit busy at the moment, Ed. Can I call you back when things settle to a dull roar?” The King smiled to himself internally at the informality as the voice continued “Looks like this may be the big one Cygnus and Mars foresaw….”
“How bad is it?” The King pressed. “Do you need help?”
“Right now, no….Vivian and the others are helping people get in the Castle, but if we need help, I’ll call.” A pause. “Last word I had was Des and his crew are holding the South walls but barely…”
“John, level with us….how bad is it, really?” Neo-Queen Serenity appeared by the King. The Queen was plainly thinking about something…
“Well, if I told you the situation was hopeless, I might be accused of being overly optimistic…” was the reply. A loud explosion was heard along with some muffled cursing….and an emotionally strained voice trying to keep some control. ”This isn’t good….they just blew a hole right in the middle of the West wall…”
“Who was down there?”
“Vivian… and Lola….” A muffled sob was heard. “Peter and Angela saw what happened…a large section of the wall fell on them and a dozen civilians they were trying to help…..no survivors that they could see….”
The King and Queen looked at each other sadly….John was close to both Dishwashers with Vivian being the reincarnation of his daughter from the old Moon Kingdom, and Lola was a Senshi he nurtured to her role from her days in a 20th Century group home. “John, are you sure you don’t need any help? We can send Haruka and Michiru…”
“I don’t think so…”The voice added softly “Looks like this is it for all of us on this go-round….”
“John…..” Endyminion responded “You know we can’t give up…the planet is in danger!”

John shook his head from his room. “I know that, Ed….I am about to head out to help the rest of my Team, but there are too many of them…..the best we can do is try a holding action and maybe slow them down a bit and allow you guys to figure out some kind of countermove…” He paused. “How are the others doing? We can use some good news down here”
“The Stellars are trying to evacuate the north….” An explosion and a flurry of voices in the background as John listened intently. “John, please do what you can…Venus just sent Haruka and Michiru to help the Stellars…big trouble at the North Wall”
Another explosion from behind John shook him out of his chair. “John!! Are you still with us?” Endyminion’s voice showed the strain of the situation.
“Barely…” John slowly got up and set his chair upright, then used it for support…he stared with some annoyance at a gash on his leg. “Ed, I know you, Des and myself discussed Serenity sending everyone ahead in time, just as her mother sent her and the others when things got too bad with Beryl…..”
“John, I don’t want to do it….not yet…” Serenity’s voice now as another explosion overhead rocked the small command room.
“Serenity, I don’t make it a practice to argue with Queens, but I think ‘not yet’ just became ’right now’….” John could barely stand now. “Where is the Crystal Princess?”
“I just sent for her…”
“Good…better have her say her goodbyes now….i don’t think Muerte is going to be sentimental and allow her the time otherwise….” John finally got to his feet and looked outside….only three of his Team left…Aqua, Solar, and M were still standing, but they were fighting a losing battle against countless shadows. “Time for me to hit the road….oh, and Ed?”
“Yes?” The King waited…
“See you in a few centuries…” John put down the communicator and slowly limped out to help his Dishwashers…..and nothing was heard from any of them again….

Dishwashers F : Chapter 1: History Lesson

The young girl awoke with a start….there was that dream again. She frowned as she quickly jotted some notes before the details were lost in the day’s hustle and bustle. She stared at the notepad. The dreams had been off and on over the last year, but the last couple of weeks, they have been more vivid in their detail…that was when she decided to start writing them down. She read them over and over, trying to glean some information that might link them as a pattern, but it wasn’t coming to her just then.
There was a knock on her door. “Are you coming to breakfast?”
“Coming Dad!” The girl quickly dressed and headed to the kitchen where her father was busy making breakfast.
Her father looked at her “Are you alright, Vivian? It sounded like you were having nightmares again.”
The girl shifted nervously as she tossed her long dark hair. “Nightmares? What gave you that idea?”
Her father sat down and stared at a picture. “Since your mother passed away, I have learned to tell when you had nightmares. Early on, I could hear you whimpering in your bed…..remember all those nights I sat with you?” Vivian nodded. “Well, those were the nights you had your most vivid nightmares. You were frightened….you lost your mom, and you were afraid of the future without her.” He smiled. “If she could see how you turned out, I think she would be proud. “ Vivian blushed at the praise. “But….” Her dad continued “…the last few nights, I have heard that whimpering….whimpering I thought I would never hear again.” He sat across from her. “Are you sure you don’t want to share with your old dad?”
Vivian paused over her juice. “Actually, Dad, thanks for asking….I do.” She sighed. “The last few nights, I had been taking notes as soon as I woke up….somehow I feel like I am being told something.”
“You probably are.” Her dad paused. “If you believe dreams are messages of one kind or another, they tend to become more clear if it was felt that you were missing the message.” He looked at her. “Can you share them with me when you get home from school?”
Vivian laughed “Silly Daddy….there’s no school today! All the teachers are having in-services so we get a free day! But….i will get the pad now.” She came back moments later and showed the pad to her dad.
Dad started reading the notes, then frowned. Vivian noted this “You think I have lost it, don’t you?”
“Nooo, not at all….Vivian, can you please go to my study….i need a book from there….”Ancient Legends and Lore” Top of the old shelf.”
Vivian wrinkled her nose “You haven’t touched THOSE books in years!”
Dad laughed at that. “There is a reason for that! Reason is, they were my college books….had no need to until now….but something you wrote jogged a memory.” After she returned with the book, Dad started reading a chapter in the dusty tome. He looked up. “Vivian, it may take me some time to sort through all of this…since you are off today, will you be meeting with your friends?”
As if on cue, the phone rang. Vivian picked it up “Hi Angela! Yeah, I don’t have anything to do, and Dad was asking me if we were going to hang out today. No, not with him…with you guys. Can Lauren and Eva join us? Great! See you soon!” She hung up the phone. “I’ll be off in a few minutes.”
“Have a good time, Vivian!” Dad replied as he studied his book and her notes. “I may have something for you when you get home…” He paused. “Be home by 6…I’ll have dinner ready.”
After she left, Dad returned to his reading. “Interesting…and a bit frightening…”

Vivian met her friends at the local game parlor. Giggling, they went into the Arcade to play the latest Sailor Moon game. As they settled down to watch Vivian take her turn, Angela said “I had a strange dream last night….” That comment startled Vivian, whose character was killed right off! “Oh, no, Viv! I am sorry! Let me pay for your next game!” An apologetic Angela placed a token next to Vivian.
“Sorry, Angela….just a bit jumpy….i had a strange dream as well…Dad is looking at my notes along with one of his college books.”
“NOTES?” Eva was surprised. “For a dream?”
“Why not?….i felt like I was being told something but the only way I can piece the message was to make notes as to what I dreamt about…” Vivian felt surprisingly defensive “Have you ever done that?”
Lauren replied "Well, i had done that sometimes....i didnt think anything strange about it."
Eva looked at her friends "Sorry, guys.....i never felt like i needed to do that...i dont really remember my dreams after i wake up anyway..."
Angela was redfaced. “I do…and I even drew a picture of what I dreamt about.” She pulled out a piece of paper….which showed a huge palace…..in the center of a large city…."Funny thing is, i almost feel like i should recognize this place..."
Vivian’s eyes became larger when she saw the drawing…

Dad finished reading his book and was reading Vivian’s notes again, while making some notes of his own.
“Well, Daddy, did you find out anything?”
He looked up as Vivian and her friends came clambering in. “I may have” Dad leaned back. “Hello, girls…we have extra food for tonight’s dinner, so if you want, you can call your parents…you are welcome to stay for dinner.”
"Thank you" the other girls chorused as calls were quickly made.
“Dad, Angela had a strange dream too….only she drew a picture of what she dreamt about.” She showed the picture to Dad who paled. “Daddy, what is wrong?”
“Any of you other girls have any strange dreams?” Nobody else responded. “Ok, have you had your Ancient Culture classes yet?”
Eva nodded “But we are only as far as ancient America and the 20th Century…”
Dad sighed. “Ok, have any of you girls heard of the legends of Crystal Tokyo?”
Lauren frowned “That chapter is later this year….” (embarrassed)”...i peeked ahead….”
Dad looked at the girls. “Have you heard of the Sailor Soldiers?” Nods all around. “Well, they were the legendary protectors of Crystal Tokyo, and the Royal Family that ruled the Earth back then. Very long-lived too, according to legend...well over 1500 years old for most of them when Crystal Tokyo was suddenly destroyed in what survivors described as a brilliant flash....one moment it was there, next moment 'POOF'! " Dad paused. "While the world didnt quite sink as far as it did during the time after the fall of Rome, it took us several centuries to get back to what apparently was 21st century achievements." He grinned. "One thing we avoided this time was fossil fuels...the old civilization at one time was too reliant on them which hurt the environment. Anyway, if you pay attention to the news reports, the media has it the Sailor Soldiers are somehow connected to the past mythology of Crystal Tokyo…” Dad paused. “And they have seemingly have come back in the modern age…” He picked up a plate. “If you have any dreams that involve anything unusual, please write them down...and do pictures if you can….” He looked at the now-quiet gaggle of teen girls. “Now, who is hungry?”
“WE ARE” came the chorused reply….

A pair of gleaming eyes. “With the all the Sailor Senshi in Tokyo, I can set myself up here in America….by the time they realize what I am doing, they won’t be able to get rid of me!”

Dad stared at Angela’s drawings….and then stared at something in his old college text…”I wonder…” he murmured. “Girls, if you don’t mind, I want to show these drawings to my friend Des…”
”Uncle Des?” Vivian asked. “He likes this stuff, doesn’t he?”
“Sure does…even has an old sword that he says is centuries old...an old heirloom from his great-great-grandfather, but he hasn’t told me what it represents…” Dad paused. "Funny thing is, that sword looks older than he says it is..."
Vivian nodded "Uncle Des and his sword." She thought back "I picked it up once.....it felt as light as a feather to me, but i know it was at least 15 kilograms." She paused "I wonder what other old stuff he has lying around."
"Now dont go bugging him. He doesnt run a museum, you know!"
"I know, Dad, I know...." Vivian pouted. "Still, there was one thing he had i wished he would explain to me."
Dad looked back at her "Oh? What is that?"
"He has one object that looks like an old scrubbrush. but i never saw a brush with a gold rabbit head on it before. When i asked him about it, he wouldn't tell me much about it. All he would say was he was holding it for its rightful owner to reclaim it."
"Hmmmm" Dad frowned, then picked up a bowl. “Now, who wants seconds?”
“WE DO!” was the chorused reply!

That night, Vivian was tossing in her sleep…..she was watching a panicky scene….Guardians running all over….yet in the chaos of the situation one thing stood out. A tall blonde woman, who seemed both gentle yet firmly in charge, was talking to several women in sailor-type suits. A tall and dignified man stood next to her and was listening intently. Another woman, with pink hair knelt down to a young red-haired girl…her daughter?....the older woman suddenly held up a shiny object as a flash of evil entered the room…..

And Vivian woke up. Sweating, she quickly grabbed her pencil and paper….

I'm getting excited about anime again, since I began re-watching Sailor Moon (it was adorable! though SuperS is kinda boring). I was curious what you guys have watched (or read! Manga is good too) recently.

I watched Claymore recently, which was a fantasy anime with half-demons! But like all things I like, the focus was on the characters and their relationships rather than plot. In my Japanese class I like to confuse people by saying "an anime I like is Claymore!" rather than stupid Naruto or something that everyone watches.

And I'm also been watching Digimon. So I think I need something more current for next... What are you watching?

I've been running through my character profiles and I realized that most of my characters, even my really really old ones from back in my roleplay youth are almost always in their mid to late twenties.

I used to play charries much older than me, and now I am the same age as my charries. I wonder if I will always play that age range. o____o;

ANYWAYS.... It got my wondering about everyone else! Tell me: How old are your characters, usually? Do the age ranges make a big difference to you when joining a roleplay?

Now what about you? How important is keeping your promises? Do you make them often or are you as tight about it as I am?

What is the hardest promise you ever had to keep?

What promise did you end up breaking?

It's said a lot that your friends should come before your lovers. That friends are forever and love is fleeting. Your best buddy gets a new girlfriend and dun have time for you anymore. Or when your chic friend has a new man and it's all about her boy. Sometimes your friend ends up marrying someone you hate and suddenly your friendship is down the crapper!

Do you believe that your friendships should come before your love-relationships?

There's some people I chat with that always seem to stuck in a moment of the past. Be it their High School Days, The "Good Old Days" of a forum community, or even re-living bad relationships. These moments they keep bringing up, over and over. Never looking at the moments they're having NOW because they are always thinking about the past.

Are YOU trapped in the past? Do you still hold on tight to something GOOD OR BAD that's happened years ago? Does it get in the way of what you're trying to do with your life NOW?

Or, have you once been obsessed with a past moment but are finally learning to deal with it?
